Background
Originally from Mexico City, Mr. Gutiérrez attended high school at Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Virginia before enrolling at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where he graduated with a BA in Economics. He returned to Mexico City after college and became a chartered economist after receiving his professional certification in economics from the Universidad Autónoma de México. Mr. Gutiérrez spent the next 20 years in international banking, culminating in his position as Executive Vice President of Banco Internacional’s (Mexico) New York office. He left banking to set up Uniteller Financial Services which was sold to Banorte, a prominent Mexican bank, in 2008. His business background has complemented his teaching experience well. Mr. Gutiérrez has spent the last 4 years as a Spanish instructor, successfully working with professional adults as well as college and high school students to improve their conversational and writing skills in Spanish.
